Why do the same Christians who say the Earth is only 6,000 years old as per the Bible, deny...?

... that the Sun and stars move around a stationary Earth (also per the Bible), and deny that the Earth is a flat disc upheld by pillars (again, per the Bible)? How can Creationists claim to be Bible literalists if they think the Bible is wrong when it teaches geocentricism and flat-Earth-ism? The Bible very explicitly and unequivocally teaches that the Earth is the center of a relatively small cosmos, that there is a solid brass dome overhead called the firmament, that the Earth is stationary and the Sun, Moon and stars exist only to provide light to it, etc, etc. Yet only on the age of the Earth, do Creationists disagree with the findings of modern science... when it comes to the shape of the Earth and so forth, they accept what science says over the Bible's words! How come?
