Are more states following Utah Tex set up a program that would allow immigrants to apply for a permit to work?

Is Texas that desparate for cash that their Republicans can only stave off economic disaster by skimming coyote fees? sad, very sad. and, it would be a scam, of course. Texas can issue all the work cards they like, but it won't mean a thing under US law, particularly since the state of Texas doesn't control the border crossing stations. Plus, nothing would preclude ICE from picking them up inside Texas and deporting them, with or without a Texas work card. Boy, the things Republicans will do to avoid raising taxes.
