Im having double hip surgery starting next month?
each hip 6 wks apart, i have no insurance so no disability benefits, im not too worried about housing and food since i'll be in the hospital most of that time and for rehab, im getting help from the colorado indigent care program, they help with hospital and surgery bills, im seasonal and thats why i get no benefits, sometimes i feel like im working for nothing cause stuff like this comes up and i have nothing, i do have savings and a credit card, but thats about it, i work in food service so im on my feet 8 hrs a day, not a good idea with hips with no cartilage in them, i work in a resort and have tried switching depts, its a resort so they have lots of depts, this was 3 wks ago, when i saw my doctor for the first time i asked for a doctors note, he gave me one and i gave it to hr, they said theyd switch me but never did, and they needed time to think about it, in the meantime im walking 8 hrs days and sometimes i can barely stand up, im tempted to quit my job but i need a job when im done with surgery and sometimes im not so sure i want to work for someone that wont accomodate me, one of my managers sometimes will let me work for other depts so that helps, and then i do sit down stuff, so do i qualify for unemployment or anything else, and if im being forced to work like this after a doctors note does that mean i can get workmen's comp? anything else i qualify for? im having surgery anyways whether i qualify or not, any suggestions on how to get thru the last few wks of work? since i cant sit on the job, im in food service
