I would like to replace my toilet and the floor below it.?

The bowl has been dripping for much longer than i have lived here. The landlord is not going to fix it if I asked, and honestly i don't know if i want one of his sleazy workman in here either. So then my question is, how difficult is it going to be to replace the toilet and the rotted floor. I have taken the toilet completely off of the base and lifted up the roll on tile stuff to look at the rotten floor boards before. How difficult is this going to be and what troubles i might i run into repairing it?
